New Limerick senior football manager John Brudair has wasted no time in recruiting new talent for his team next season.

Brudair called 60 players to attend last night's trial game at Mick Neville Park, with further trials and training sessions to take place over the weekend, which didn't include the 20 players that he and Co considers to be regulars from Maurice Horan's 2013 panel.

"The response was great - I made 60 phone calls and at this stage there are about 55 confirmed. Everybody I spoke to was positive," Brudair explained to the Limerick Leader.

The Shannonsiders boss also confirmed that "the vast majority" of elder statesmen in the squad "are back on board" for next season, when he hopes to steer the team to an improved season from their 2013 campaign.

"It's a huge honour for me and I think we have a youthful, energetic set-up and hopefully that will translate through to the players. As a player the greatest honour is to play for your county and as a manager or coach it's the same that you aspire to be part of the county management," he stated.
