Na Piarsaigh claimed their second Limerick SHC title with a two point victory over Adare at the Gaelic Grounds.

Two years after joining the Limerick SHC roll of honour, Na Piarsaigh gained revenge for the 0-3 to 1-17 defeat inflicted on them by Adare in their first ever senior final appearance in 2009.

They justified the favourites tag with county pair Kevin Downes and Shane Dowling pointing the way with four points apiece.

The city side made all the early running and led by 0-5 to 0-1 inside the opening quarter.

Adare were left to rue a missed penalty by Declan Hannon and they trailed by 0-5 to 0-8 at the half-time whistle.

But the third quarter belonged to Dave Keane's side and they fought back to regain parity inside 12 minutes of the restart.

But the Sean Stack trained Na Piarsaigh replied with points from Dowling and 'man-of-the-match' Downes and they successfully managed to keep Adare at bay for the remainder of the contest.
