Kildare pair set for AFL trials

Rising Kildare stars Daniel Flynn and Sean Hurley are to attend Aussie Rules trials later this year.
The Johnstownbridge pair will travel to Australia in November after they were watched by AFL scouts when they played for a Tadhg Kennelly-coached AFL Europe selection against an AFL Academy team in Surrey, England last April.
Hurley will have trials with Fremantle, while Flynn is bound for another unnamed club in Melbourne. With Mayo's Pearse Hanley and Zach Tuohy of Laois flying high in the AFL at the moment, Aussie Rules remains an attractive proposition for many up-and-coming GAA stars, and both Flynn and Hurley now have a chance to follow in their footsteps.
The pair were part of the Kildare U21 team which won the Leinster championship earlier this year, while they also featured for the seniors in their league and championship campaigns.
