New Dublin senior football manager Jim Gavin has confirmed that Whitehall Colmcilles teenager Cormac Costello will commit fully to the footballers cause in 2013.

"We are working with a squad of around 50 but it is very much an open door to the squad. Anybody who might not be involved will still be considered if they show good form."

"Cormac Costello is one of those players and he will be joining us on the 8th of December when collective training starts and as it stands at the moment he will be committed to the footballers."

Costello's immediate future is good news then for the footballers as the dual star who was instrumental in guiding the Dubs minors to the all Ireland Crown in September is highly regarded with a sliotar also but Gavin insists that despite recent rumours there is no tension between the Dublin footballers and hurlers management teams.

"I haven't spoke to Anthony recently but there is no issue, we are all working together for Dublin gaa be it hurling or football"
