Daly not cited in referee's report

Dublin hurling manager Anthony Daly
Anthony Daly looks likely to escape punishment from the Clare county board after not being mentioned in the referee's report of last Saturday's heated MHC final between Clarecastle and Kilmaley.

The Dublin hurling manager, who is a selector with his native Clarecastle, is not among those being cited by match official Jim Hickey's account of the game at Sixmilebridge according to today's Irish Examiner..

However, it is believed that the two managers, who are Kilmaley's Niall Romer and Clarecastle's Tom Howard, who were both dismissed, were both cited by Hickey.

Photographs from the final show both Daly and Stephen Sheedy of Clarecastle involved in a tussle with Romer, who is appealing a 48-week ban from a minor game earlier in the season. Meanwhile Howard, who has taken the reins as Kerry senior hurling manager, could yet also face suspension.
