Tony Hanahoe to host Legends Tour

The GAA Museum at Croke Park has announced that Dublin footballing legend, Tony Hanahoe will host a tour of Croke Park Stadium at 7.00pm on Thursday 25th August as part of the Legends Tour Series.

As part of the tour, Tony will focus on his triumphant and distinguished playing career with the Dublin senior football team. Before his debut on the senior Dublin team in 1964, Tony played both minor hurling and football for Dublin. In 1974, Dublin enjoyed huge success winning the Leinster senior football championship before achieving All-Ireland glory.

Tony captained the Dubs to further All-Ireland victories in 1976 and 1977. His performance in the 1976 All-Ireland Football Final against Kerry earned him a prestigious All-Star Award. As well as three All-Ireland medals and six Leinster senior titles, Hanahoe contributed hugely to the success of the St. Vincent's club, winning an outstanding 11 Dublin senior football championship titles over a 20 year period.

The talented Dubliner from Clontarf was also known for his hurling skills, winning three Dublin senior hurling championships with St Vincent's in 1964, 1967 and 1975.

· Tony Hanahoe Legends Tour - Thursday August 25th 7.00pm
· Brian Whelahan Legends Tour - Saturday August 27th 2.00pm


The Legends Tour Series, which started in 2008, has been a huge success at the GAA Museum, with many GAA fans flocking to the stadium to get a unique 'behind-the-scenes' tour from their hurling and gaelic football heroes. These special tours provide fans with an unforgettable opportunity to hear memories and anecdotes from the players who have thrilled Croke Park crowds on so many occasions.

All tours include a trip to the recently refurbished GAA Museum which is home to many exclusive exhibits, such as the original Sam Maguire and Liam MacCarthy cups and the recently opened exhibition, Dermot Earley - Leader & Legend which will run for 12 months.

Prices for the Legends Tours are as follows: Adult €15, Child €8.50, Student (Under 16) and Senior €10.00, Family €40.00.
