Westmeath to decide on Flanagan future
August 16, 2011

Westmeath manager Pat Flanagan shakes hands with his Wexford counterpart Jason Ryan
Pat Flanagan will find out tomorrow night if he will still be Westmeath football manager next year.
A specially convened football board meeting will take place in Mullingar after delegates failed to ratify Flanagan at a full county board meeting earlier this month. A seven-man committee comprising county board chairman Tom Farrell, county secretary Pat Lynagh, football board chairman Liam Gavin, football board secretary Gerry Coyne and delegates Aiden McGuire (The Downs), Paddy Whelehan (St. Mary's) and John Cunningham (Ballymore) was set up at that meeting to review the season with the Clara native.
Westmeath secured promotion to Division 2 of the NFL, but failed to win a championship game for the first time in 15 years following defeats to Wexford and Antrim.
