The Michael Breathnach club is considering its options after being thrown out of the Galway senior football championship following an objection by the Mountbellew-Moylough club.
The sides met in the first round of this year's championship and Michael Breathnach's came out on top by a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-12.
However, Mountbellew claim that the Breathnach club played an illegal player in the match when Tommy Conneely was introduced as a substitute.
The youngster has played club football with Michael Breathnach with permission from the county board to do so as he and his family resides in Camus, which is part of the Na Piarsaigh club catchment area.
Nonetheless, Mountbellew state that the special permission didn't cover adult level and their objection was upheld by the CCCC and Michael Breathnach were subsequently thrown out of the championship.
The club look set to appeal the decision and it remains to be seen just how far they are willing to go to fight their case, which may consequently hold up the remainder of this year's campaign.
