Crossmaglen to appeal O'Callaghan red

Danny O'Callaghan of Crossmaglen Rangers
Crossmaglen Rangers will lodge a formal appeal to overturn the dismissal of centre half back Danny O'Callaghan during Sunday's All-Ireland senior club semi-final.
O'Callaghan was shown a straight red card by referee Maurice Condon during the second half of his side's victory over Kilmacud Crokes.
He was one of three players to be sent off during the game, following Kilmacud pair Kevin Nolan and Brian McGrath in making a premature exit from the fray.
But Cross hope to have the red card rescinded on the evidence of television footage.
Manager Tony McEntee told the Irish News, "I saw the incident itself. Our defender was following his man, he rose his knee up into the back of his opponent's calf. Was it malicious? Was there intent? Probably yes but I would say it more looks like a yellow card.
"We'll look at it again, we'll review it but we'll probably ask to have it downgraded to a yellow."
