The Meath management team of manager Seamus McEnaney, selector Liam Harnan and trainer Martin McElkennon
Seamus McEnaney is the new Meath football manager after being ratified by the clubs of the county.
At the delayed montly meeting of the county board the Monaghan man was voted in on a three year term, with a review after two seasons, by a margin of 53 votes to 19.
County chairman Barney Allen explained that the only cost to the county board would be for milage after questions from the floor on the finance involved in bringing in the new management team. It was revealed at the meeting that McEnaney's management team would cost €11,000 per month, coming in at approximately €100,000 per year and the spend would end with Meath's exit from the championship.
McEnaney brings along Martin McElkennon and Paul Grimley, while Liam Harnan is also on the ticket as a selector. Another Meath man will join the backroom team at a later date but reports that Martin O'Connell would be the extra selector have proved wide of the mark.
Delegates were also told that in ideal circumstances Harnan would be in a position to succeed McEnaney after three years.
The appointment tonight brings to an end a lengthy process which began when club delegates refused to back the outgoing manager Eamonn O'Brien, who had led the county to a first Leinster title in nine years.
