Tipperary SFC final: Grogan point gives Aherlow title win
November 08, 2010

Aherlow's Conor O'Shea lands on top of Willie Eviston of Loughmore-Castleiney during the Tipperary SFC Final at Thurles
Barry Grogan was the toast of Aherlow in the Tipperary SFC final as his injury time point saw his side overcome Loughmore/Castleiney by 2-4 to 1-6 at Semple Stadium.
Grogan's late, late effort crowned a very impressive personal display as he had earlier fired home a 44th minute goal which kick-started his side's race to the winner's enclosure.
And yet Grogan's winning point wasn't the end of the drama as the trailing team saw a 64th minute free sail just wide of the uprights.
Loughmore/Castleiney had the better of the exchanges early on and a fine start saw them go three points clear after nine minutes.
Conor O'Shea's goal for Aherlow in the 17th minute levelled matters before a Cian Hennessy goal for Loughmore saw the would-be losers go in at the interval, leading by 1-5 to 1-1.
The intensity of the second half grew after Grogan levelled the match in the 54th minute after John Scully had restored Loughmore's lead.
Loughmore had defender Aidan McGrath dismissed before Grogan came good with his match-winning point.
