JHC 2 final: Na Fianna and Trim can't be separated
October 10, 2010

Na Fianna's Marty Dixon and Trim's Colm McDonagh test the strenght of their hurls during the Meath Junior 2 hurling final at Trim
Na Fianna 1-7
Trim 1-7
Na Fianna and Trim must meet again next Saturday after Na Fianna fought back to claim a draw in Trim.
Daniel Queeney pointed a huge free from his own 45 metre line with two minutes remaining to earn Na Fianna another chance next week.
Trim were the better side in the opening half when playing with the aid of a strong wind and they created a 1-03 to 0-1 lead at half time. In truth, it should have been more as Trim spurned numerous scoreable chances. Mark McCormack put the home team on the scoreboard with a well worked goal. The same player added two more points to give Trim that five point half time lead
Na Fianna's impressive full forward Fergal Fagan pointed their only score in the sixth minute and the rest of the half was dominated to a large extent by the town side.
Fagan pointed twice inside the opening two minutes of the second half as Na Fianna mounted a fightback. Queeney began to dominate proceedings at centre forward and he pointed soon after. Two points separated the sides now but Trim hit back with two quick points. Meath footballer Ollie Lewis then surged through to point in response and three minutes later Queeney rounded the Trim full back to blast to the net to put the side's level. Trim took the lead soon after by scoring two points and looked odds on for the win but Queeney pointed from play in the 28th minute and this was immediately followed by his monstrous free. Na Fianna then went in search of the winner but Trim held out and both sides will meet again next week.
Meath senior hurling selector Anthony Kirby was very sound in the Na Fianna goals and he got good assistance from full back Marty Dixon, midfielder and county senior footballer Ollie Lewis and fowards Daniel Queeney and Fergal Fagan. Na Fianna lined out without another Meath senior footballer as Jamie Queeney had emigrated to Australia.
Trim had good performances from centre back David Foley and fowards Stephen Doyle and Mark McCormack while substitute Mick Lowther made a telling impact when introduced.
