Down's Ambrose Rogers
Ambrose Rogers has emerged as a doubt for Down's All-Ireland football semi-final against Kildare on August 29 after picking up an injury in a club game yesterday.
The midfielder was forced off in the second half of Longstone's 1-17 to 1-5 SFC victory over Newcastle with the early indications suggesting that he sustained a knee injury, but that he came off only as a precautionary measure.
There were also wins for Mayobridge and Saval, while the meeting of Clonduff and An Riocht ended level. The draw for the Down SFC quarter-finals will not be made until after the All-Ireland semi-final and, in the event of a Down victory, the last-eight ties will not be played until after the All-Ireland final on September 19.
