Horesword captured their third Wexford SFC title of the decade following a thrilling victory over St. Anne's at Wexford Park.

Few in the attendance would have predicted such an outcome after St. Anne's had raced into a 1-3 to 0-0 lead inside eight minutes, with their goal coming from Jonathan Fogarty after just two. However, two rather fortuitous goals in the space of four minutes brought Horeswood back from the brink.
In the ninth minute, PJ Banville's attempt for a point hit the upright and full forward Jim Wall was on hand to finish the rebound to the net. Three minutes later, St. Anne's 'keeper Geoff Barry could only parry a Wall shot, leaving David Shannon to tap the ball home to level at 2-0 to 1-3.
Horeswood added a third goal a minute before the break when Wall netted for a second time to give them a 3-7 to 1-6 interval lead.
St. Anne's made a real fight of it in the second half with early points from Donal Berry, Redmond Barry and Fogarty closing the gap. With Horeswood clinging onto a three-point lead, Barry missed an opportunity to reduce the deficit to the minimum late on when his powerful shot just cleared the crossbar.
