Four Roads made it four Roscommon senior hurling championship titles in-a-row thanks to a 2-18 to 0-15 win over Oran at Dr Hyde Park this afternoon.
The holders built up an early 0-5 to 0-1 lead with Conor Mulry to the fore for them before Oran narrowed their deficit with scores from Noel Fallon and Joseph Henry.
Mulry’s free would close the half at 0-10 to 0-8 in Four Roads’ favour and they’d enjoy a brilliant spell in this decider’s third quarter to leave themselves with one on the trophy.
Conor Morris’s goal in the 37th minute saw them up by four points ahead of the same player taking a pass from Mulry and dispatching the sliotar to the net again in the 44th minute.
James Cunniffe’s point made it 2-13 to 0-11 as the ticked into its final quarter and the scores of Conor Morris and Mulry wrapped up a nine-point victory in the end.
Four Roads Joint-Captains, Conor Coyle & Jack Donnelly lift the Mickey Cunniffe Cup after their team’s win over Oran in this afternoon’s Kepak Senior Hurling Final at King & Moffatt Dr. Hyde Park.
