Wicklow hurling boss Jonathan ‘Bosco’ O’Neill is expected to return to the sideline for his side’s next Allianz Hurling League Division 3 game against Roscommon Sunday week.
O’Neill was forced to watch the Garden County’s win over Armagh in the Athletic Grounds last Sunday from the stand after being handed a sideline ban arising from an incident in the previous round against London. The Glenealy clubman remonstrated with referee Nicky O’Toole for not awarding Wicklow a last-minute free in a one-point loss to the Exiles.
O’Neill, who wore the blue and gold jersey for a staggering 23 years, was appointed manager following Casey O’Brien’s sudden departure this time last year, having previously guided Wicklow to an All-Ireland U21 ‘B’ title in 2015.
