Jimmy Barry-Murphy was singing Brian Hayes' praises after his five-star display for St Finbarr's against Éire Óg, Ennis.
The Cork hurler bagged 3-3 as the Togher side romped to a 3-20 to 0-14 victory at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh to set up a Munster club SFC final meeting with Dingle.
“Brian was awesome, he’s a fabulous footballer as well as a hurler,” the St Finbarr's selector and Cork legend told the media.
“He'd be on any inter-county panel. We'll never see a dual player again in the inter-county scene. That's just the way it is. I was speaking about that recently, I think it's a pity. It won't happen ever again.
“Brian’s a very, very talented lad. It goes without saying that the Cork footballers would have him on their panel.”
