Kilcoo defeated Loughmacrory by 0-16 to 0-11 at O’Neills Healy Park this evening to progress into the semi-finals of the Ulster club senior football championship.

The Down kingpins, who are gunning for their third provincial final berth in four years, trailed by 0-3 to 0-2 after the opening 10 minutes in Omagh, but a brace of scores Shealan Johnston edged them in front and they’d go on to lead by 0-7 to 0-5 at the half thanks to points from Daryl Branagan, Ryan Johnston and Paul Devlin.

Crowned Tyrone senior champions for the first time last Sunday week, Loughmacrory would fall five behind early in the second-half before county ace Eoin McElholm shot over from close range in the 35th minute.

Pauric Meenagh’s free made it a three-point game two minutes later and Cathair Gallagher’s effort had the margin at two before the Magpies got motoring again.

Miceal Rooney cut through for a point and Shealan Johnston grabbed a two-pointer afterwards, making it 0-13 to 0-8, and the scores of Ceilum Doherty, Devlin and Sean Óg McCusker would be enough to see Kilcoo progress towards a provincial semi-final date with Erne Gaels Belleek in two weeks’ time, with the Fermanagh champions having saw off Kingscourt Stars of Cavan (AET) earlier this evening.
