Two-time Clare All-Ireland winning hurler Paul Flanagan has taken up a coaching role with the county’s senior footballers.

Clare FM is reporting that Flanagan, who announced his inter-county retirement last September after collecting his second All-Ireland SHC medal, has been added to Peter Keane’s backroom team as a performance coach.

The Ballyea clubman is a performance and mental skills coach who completed a Masters degree in mental health, mental skills and performance psychology from UL. He has experienced the highs and lows of elite performance in a highly competitive context and how a change in mindset can be initiated and elicit results.

Clare registered their first win in Division 3 of the Allianz Football League at Leitrim’s expense last weekend.
