Excitement is building in Kildare GAA circles ahead of the reopening of Cedral St Conleth’s Park on Sunday.

Players and supporters alike will get to sample the revamped stadium for the first time when Naas and Celbridge face off in the Kildare SFC final. The same two teams met in last year's decider at Netwatch Cullen Park. It will be the first game to take place at the Newbridge venue since Kildare hosted Meath in the last round of the 2023 Allianz Football League, shortly after which redevelopment works commenced.

GAA president Jarlath Burns will be in attendance for the standalone fixture which gets underway at 2pm.

The new-look county grounds were handed over by developers Elliott Group last month following the completion of works on the new 3,000-seat stand and the installation of underground irrigation piping at a cost of €17.5 million. The new stand boasts dressing rooms, officials' changing rooms, a Club Kildare Lounge, multi-purpose rooms and shops.
