Kilkenny kept things to script by seeing off Offaly by 4-25 to 2-16 at UPMC Nowlan Park this evening to make it three wins from three in the Leinster senior hurling championship.
Martin Keoghan and TJ Reid hammered in early goals for Derek Lyng’s men as they went on to hold a 2-16 to 0-11 lead at the half.
Offaly hit the hosts’ net six minutes into the resumption via Oisin Kelly, but it didn’t take long for the Cats to get motoring again and another goals from talisman Reid sealed the deal for them with 15 minutes remaining.
In Belfast, Dublin handed Davy Fitzgerald’s Antrim side a 3-25 to 0-19 defeat for their third straight win in the eastern province.
The capital men’s first-half goals came from Cian O’Sullivan and Ronan Hayes as they led by 2-13 to 0-7 at the halfway stage.
The visitors were up by a dozen when they struck their third goal of the evening via Fergal Whitely as they won out by 15 in the end.
Earlier in the day, Cathal Mannion hit 0-7 as Galway got their second win in the Bob O’Keeffe Cup race by defeating Wexford (1-29 to 2-16) in Salthill.
