A club footballer has accepted a four-match suspension from Kerry CCC for his involvement in an off-the-ball incident that resulted in 2018 All-Ireland MFC winner Jack Kennelly suffering a broken jaw earlier this month.

The Kerry SFL Division 3 encounter between Ballydonoghue and Castlegregory on April 6 last was abandoned by referee Donal Casey after Kennelly was removed to hospital in Cork by ambulance after being allegedly struck by a Castlegregory defender. He was treated by the Ballydonoghue club physio and two nurses who were spectators at the game while awaiting the ambulance's arrival.

Kennelly had metal plates inserted into his jaw and is now recovering at home. The abandoned tie has been rescheduled for Friday, May 3.
