Micheál Burns is expected to return to the Kerry colours after a year’s absence.
The Kerryman is reporting that Burns will commence training with Jack O’Connor’s panel this week after a long club campaign with Dr Crokes ended with a heartbreaking All-Ireland club SFC semi-final defeat to Errigal Ciarán earlier this month. His club-mates Mark O’Shea, Evan Looney and Charlie Keating are also expected to link up with the Kingdom this week.
Burns spent last summer in Chicago, but was in superb form for Dr Crokes as they claimed county and Munster honours thereafter. He admitted in an interview with TG4 last September that it would be very difficult to turn down the chance to play for Kerry again.
