In a surprise development, Kilcormac/Killoughey have decided not to reappoint Shane Hand after he led the club to back-to-back Offaly SHC titles and a Leinster club final appearance against Na Fianna only last month.

The successful Hand guided K/K to Offaly SHC final appearances in each of the three years he was charge. After losing to first-time winners Shinrone in 2022, they turned the tables on the Tipperary-border club in spectacular fashion last year before retaining the Sean Robbins Cup at Ballinamere’s expense this year.

Players from K/K backboned Offaly’s All-Ireland U20HC success this year, including gifted forward Adam Screeney, and such is their wealth of talent that many are tipping them to win Leinster and All-Ireland titles in the coming years. But Hand – whose son Daniel was a regular at corner forward this season – won’t be at the helm when they return to action in 2025, with coach Tony Gleeson from Tipperary being touted as a possible replacement.
