The All-Ireland Post Primary Schools Senior Hurling 'A' Championship semi-final line-up is complete after Limerick's Ardscoil Rís overcame Presentation College, Athenry in their rearranged quarter-final at Dangan last night.
Six unanswered points in the closing stages propelled Ardscoil Rís to a 1-18 to 1-12 victory after Presentation College had held a 1-9 to 1-8 lead at half-time. Free-taker Niall O'Farrell top-scored for the winners with 0-9, while Aaron Niland - younger brother of Galway senior Evan - hit 1-4 for Athenry. The original fixture was abandoned after a Presentation College player picked up a serious head injury following a collision.
Ardscoil Rís will now face Good Counsel, New Ross in the All-Ireland semi-final on Saturday at 1pm at a venue to be confirmed. Surprise Harty Cup winners St Joseph's of Tulla will take on traditional giants St Kieran's College, Kilkenny in the other Croke Cup semi-final in McDonagh Park, Nenagh at the same time.
