Limerick senior hurling manager John Kiely has made some alterations to his backroom team ahead of the Shannonsiders’ bid to regain the Liam McCarthy Cup next year.

The Treaty County’s hopes of an All-Ireland SHC five-in-a-row fell short this past summer when they lost out to Cork in the semi-finals on a 1-28 to 0-29 scoreline at Croke Park.

Looking towards the 2025 campaign, there have been changes made to Kiely’s backroom team which are set to be ratified at this Tuesday’s county board meeting according to a report from Limerick Live.

Ex-Limerick captain Donal O'Grady has left his role as coach/selector with the Munster champions to take over the county’s minor hurlers next season, while S&C coach Cairbre Ó'Cairealláin and High-Performance Manager Joe O’Connor are also leaving the managerial set-up along with Clare native Aonghus O'Brien.

Coach-selectors Alan Cunningham and John Flavin are returning to Kiely’s backroom team, while Liam Cronin of Cappamore comes in as a coach and Adrian O’Brien, who is the father of up and coming Limerick star Shane, is the team’s new S&C coach and Paul Kilgannon is set to take the role of team performance coach.

Last month saw Kiely and his head coach Paul Kinnerk confirming their return with the Treaty men after being ratified on a two-year term.
