Portlaoise and Portarlington will contest the Laois SFC final on Sunday week following their respective semi-final wins over O’Dempsey’s and Graiguecullen yesterday.

Two goals in either half from veteran Paul Cahillane proved decisive in Portlaoise’s 2-12 to 1-11 victory. Mark Barry grabbed a late goal for O’Dempsey’s, but it was a case of too little, too late as Aidan Fennelly’s men reached the decider.

In the other last-four clash at Laois Hire O’Moore Park, Portarlington – who won a three-in-a-row between 2020 and ’22 – came from 1-3 to 0-7 down at half-time to overwhelm Graiguecullen by 3-10 to 0-11. Rioghan Murphy and Darragh Galvin scored second half goals as Pat Roe’s charges eased into the final.
