Cavan ace Gearoid McKiernan bagged an incredible 3-14 in today's All County Football League Division 1 final - and still ended up on the losing team.

The 31-year-old produced a remarkable individual display as his Cavan Gaels side were narrowly beaten by Crosserlough in a thrilling decider after extra-time.

Crosserlough came out on top by 6-18 to 4-23 in Crosskeys, but that wasn't for McKiernan's want of trying.

Paul Towey's 1-17 for McBrides in yesterday's Chicago SFC semi-final is another example of a losing player racking up a massive personal haul.
