Meath, Wicklow and Louth all win in Leinster MFC

Meath kicked off their Leinster minor football championship campaign in superb style this afternoon by handing Dublin a 1-15 to 0-7 defeat in Navan.

The hosts produced the second-half goods to blow the Dubs away at the finish, with Aaron Murphy’s 44th minute goal key in surging them towards victory.

Dublin nailed the last two scores of the opening half to bring the sides level at the break (0-4 apiece), before Eoghan Frayne hit the Royals first four points of the restart.

The visitors cancelled out two of them but had no response after as Murphy’s goal rocked them and marched Meath into the next round.

In Darver, Louth scored a 0-15 to 1-6 win against Wexford in their opener, while the competition’s late game saw a goalfest in Aughrim where hosts Wicklow were 4-13 to 3-9 winners over Longford.
