Under 8 Blitz

Well done to our Under 8s who had their blitz in Rath last Thursday evening. A super effort from all the girls!

Under 13 League:

Our Under 13 team were unlucky last Thursday evening against St. Cillian’s in Mountbolus in the U13 League.

The first half was a close affair with K/K forwards, Liva Birmingham and Mikayla Commins working very hard to create some great chances. Cara Guinan found the back of the net after 15 minutes. Younger Guinan sister, Sasha followed with a point from play. It was only in the last five minutes of the half that St. Cillian’s managed to gain a lead.

Throughout the second half, St. Cillian’s extended their lead with the K/K side finding it difficult to convert their chances into scores. Cliona Mannion was unlucky to not get a point with all her hard work. In the backlines, Anna McDonald and Alison-rose Meacle did trojan work to hold off some of the St. Cillian’s forwards with Aoife Feighery in goals having some great saves throughout the game.

The day was to be St. Cillian’s, however, despite all the skill dispalyed by our U13 Team.

Senior Championship:

Our Senior Team lost out to Shinrone on Sunday in the second round of the Senior Championship with a final score of 1-13 to 1-11. It was a very tight contest between the two sides that went right down to the final minutes. Our Seniors will face Tullamore next in the Championship.
