Tullamore 2-16 St Sinchills 3-10 

St Sinchills played Tullamore in the 2nd round of championship on Saturday evening.  The last time these two teams met in the league final there was very little separating the teams and this proved to be the case again on Saturday evening. 

Tullamore were first to get their names on the scoreboard with a free from Lisa Gorman. St Sinchills replied with well taken scores from Lisa Cunningham, Sarah Dillon and Bridin Walsh (2). Tullamore's Sarah Walsh was causing Sinchills plenty of trouble with piercing runs through the middle and she rose 5 white flags in the first half while Orlagh and Lisa Gorman also registered scores. Rachel Dillon and Aoibheann Walsh were in superb form for St Sinchills and the hard working Jane Murray and Helen Hensey were delivering plenty of balls into the full forward line. Lauren Keenahan finished the first half scoring for St Sinchills with a great goal from play and a pointed free to leave the half time score reading Tullamore 0-9, St Sinchills 1-5.  

There was a lively start to the 2nd half with both teams hitting the back of the net, Eabha Flanagan saw her long range free go straight to the net while Sarah Walsh long range shot raised the green flag for Tullamore. Both teams then traded points leaving it level at the water break. 

When play resumed Lisa Gorman found the net and sub Ciara Brady rose a white flag for Tullamore. Sinchills responded with a goal once again from an Eabha Flanagan free and were very unlucky not to see another green flag after the brilliant Jane Murray and Bridin Walsh both had chances but the Tullamore rearguard somehow cleared both balls off the line. Katie Keyes registered a point to leave Sinchills trailing by 1 point with a few minutes to go. However, it was Tullamore who got the final 2 scores with Gorman converting 2 frees to leave them ahead by 3 at the final whistle.
