What is the GAA Green Club programme.

A partnership between GAA,LGFA, Camogie Association and local government promoting sustainability awareness and engagement among Gaelic Games family membership.

Supporting clubs in the greening of Club operations, facilities management and infrastructure planning.

Fostering links between clubs and community through shared sustainability projects.

Weaving environmental awareness into the GAA’s strong sense of community and place.

Ballycumber GAA Club are one of five clubs in the country who are participating in the GAA Green Clubs Biodiversity programme and work has started on preparing the site for the planting of native trees, shrubs and wild flowers. A section of Leylandii trees were removed by Brazil Plant Hire, Corr Hill and planting will be supplied and supervised by Moores Nurseries.

The other clubs involved are St Brigids, Dublin, Ballina Stephanites, Mayo, Mullingar Shamrocks, Westmeath,  Kilmeen & Kilbree, Cork.

The GAA Green Clubs programme offers advice and help from experts and Ballycumber have received advice from the National Biodiversity Data Centre, Waterford, Amanda Pedlow, Heritage Officer, Offaly County Council, Brian Gaynor, Irish Wildlife Trust and very much appreciate financial assistance from Offaly Local Development Company.

Membership.

All members and new members are asked to pay their membership fees as soon as possible.

Fees are the same as last year, Player, 60 euro, Family, 50 euro, Adult, 30 euro, Students, 20 euro, OAP and Children, 10 euro.                                                                                                                                          Social Membership for use of the Walking Track is 25 euro for the full year.

Lotto results.

The numbers drawn were 4,6,13,32. No jackpot winner, one match three winner.                                     

Next week’s draw will be held in Gussies on Monday evening for a jackpot of 8300 euros.

GAA National Club Draw 2021.

GAA National Club Draw 2021 tickets at 10 euro are now on sale. There are great prizes on offer including the all new Renault Clio V Dynamique, All Ireland Football and Hurling Final packages, Cash prizes and Shopping Vouchers and with all funds raised staying with the Club, we ask all members to support this draw. Tickets are on sale from Committee members and players.                                                                 The draw in Croke Park has been postponed until 4th June because of Covid 19 restrictions. All sold tickets have been uploaded to the system and will be included in the draw.
