Kinnitty Camogie Notes

March 20, 2023

The Kinnitty Under 15 team that won their Group in the Offaly Camogie Feile

Our Under 15 girls played in this year's Feile on Sunday in Crinkle.  The girls had a dream start to the day when they played Shinrone and played some excellent camogie in dreadful conditions and went on to win 2-9 to 0-1.  They then had two byes while two other games were played.

When they retook to the pitch it was to play against Belmont who proved to be a tougher challenge but the girls battled it out and won 2-0 to 0-0.  Finally, the girls played against Birr and again they proved to be too strong winning comfortably on a scoreline of 7-1 to 0-0.

That left the girls winning their group and qualifying for the Division 2 Final where they were due to play Lusmagh/Drumcullen.  Unfortunately, when our team arrived in Coolderry to play the final, they discovered that a Lusmagh/Drumcullen player had been injured in their final game and as a result, the final was postponed.  Details of the final have not been confirmed yet.

Well done to all our girls and their management team on a fantastic performance over the three games.

Our team:  Abi Browne, Abbie Sheppard, Aoife McGovern, Kate Maher, Maisie O'Neill, Alison Ryan, Aine Kinsella, Meadbh Dooley, Amber Mortimer, Katie Standish, Kate Browne, Kate Harris, Caoiomhe O'Shea, Aoibhe Longworth, Aisling Farrell,
