U15 FOOTBALL LEAGUE RD 2

Na Fianna U15 Footballers completed their league program with 2 wins out of 2 as they travelled all the way to Ferbane last Friday evening to take on Ferbane / Belmont in Rd 2 and Na Fianna went home happy as they claimed the win on a scoreline of 2-16 to 4-07.  F/B were first off the mark with the opening point before being awarded a penalty in the 5th min for a foot block but their efforts were thwarted as Na Fianna keeper Doonacha Keoghan dived correctly to his right to pull off the save which proved invaluable to the result in the end. The sides added a point apiece before both sides struck for their first goal with Na Fianna’s coming in the 9th min from a brillant solo run by the speed merchant Conor Bracken. This is how it remained until after the water break which was badly needed on a very hot evening as Na Fianna then added 4 points to F/B 2 before Na Fianna struck for their second goal in stoppage time finished by corner forward Edward Mangan. In the second half Na Fianna were content to continue raising the white flags as they added a further 11 points while F/B had their eye on goal scoring a further 3-03 it would not be enough as Na Fianna held on for the win.
