Rathkenny's Jack Gore

Visitors Ratoath came away from Rathkenny with victory and a place in the final of the Premier Football Championship Division 3 match played last Saturday September 21st.

Rathkenny 0-10 Ratoath 3-12

Hosts Rathkenny started brightly with the opening three scores of the match through early frees from Noah McBride and Patrick Knowles and a Jack Gore point from play.

The visitors responded with a brace of points to narrow the gap to the minimum with twelve minutes on the clock. Patrick Knowles extended the lead with a free before Ratoath replied from play. Noah McBride sent over a free for Rathkenny on twenty minutes. Jack Gore made it a three-point game with a great effort from play on twenty-three minutes. Ratoath then sent over the next two scores to leave one between the sides approaching half time. Rathkenny thought they had an important goal, but it was disallowed for a square ball infringement. In the remaining minute played, Ratoath sent over two points to lead by one before referee Paul Mooney blew for half time. Rathkenny 0-6 Ratoath 0-7

Visitors Ratoath sent over the opening second half score before Noah McBride replied from play. Ratoath got the next four scores and more importantly two of which were goals. The second came about from a penalty as a 45-effort dropped short and a coming together saw Paul Mooney give a penalty which was dispatched to the net. This left nine between the sides and there would be no coming back for the hosts. Rathkenny sent over the next two points via Aaron Johnson and Luke Kealy. A fifty-first minute goal sealed the visitors win and in the remaining eight minutes Rathkenny sent over a consolation effort through a Noah McBride free while Ratoath added two points of their own.
