The Offaly SHC is down to the last four following this weekend’s quarter-finals.

Champions Kilcormac/Killoughey will face record Sean Robbins Cup winners Coolderry in one semi-final, with Ballinamere and St Rynagh’s meeting in the other on the weekend after next. In the first quarter-final on Saturday, St Rynagh’s put their indifferent form behind them to oust Birr on a 0-20 to 0-17 scoreline.

Coolderry completed the semi-final line-up after producing a late surge to defeat neighbours Shinrone on a 3-20 to 2-17 scoreline in Birr yesterday.

Substitute Gearoid McCormack’s 55th minute goal proved decisive in an absorbing contest that could have gone either way at that stage. Once in front, Brian Carroll's men drove home their advantage with late points from Andrew Connolly, Daniel Miller and Kevin Connolly to end Shinrone’s bid for a third consecutive final appearance.

Kilcormac/Killoughey and Ballinamere qualified directly for the semi-finals after topping their respective groups.

Meanwhile, Tullamore will drop to the Senior ‘B’ ranks next year after losing their SHC relegation final to Belmont by 1-14 to 1-19 on Saturday unless Kilcormac/Killoughey can retain their second-tier championship. K/K’s second string are through the final where they will face Clodiagh Gaels for the second year in-a-row.
