Kildalkey's Lee Coldrick

Kildalkey 1-19 Trim 1-12

Kildalkey intermediate team travelled to Grangegodden on Sunday morning to take on Trim needing a win to progress to the knockout stages and after a tough game came away with the 2 points to see them through.

Five points seperated the sides in the finish but Trim made it hard for the Blues and battled all the way and late scores from Shay Diggins, Lee Coldrick and Kevin McKeon put a gloss on it as 2 or 3 points is all that separated the teams for much of the second half .

Trim scored an early goal but Kildalkey still led at halftime by 0-9 to 1-4 with the points coming from Matthew Cully, Lee Coldrick, Ben Rickard and Kelvin Lynch.

The second half was similar as Trim were proving hard to shake off and made it hard for Kildalkey with their goalkeeper bringing off 4 top drawer saves guarding his goals with his life but Shay Diggins eventually found the net halfway through the second half and also added 3 points after some strong running .

Coldrick added 3 more points to his tally and Cully with 2 while Kevin McKeon tipped over the last point as his team got the win they needed and progressed to meet Navan O Mahonys in 2 weeks time in a repeat of last years intermediate final.
