IHC Group B: Back to back wins for Kilskyre Moylagh

August 19, 2024

Kilskyre/Moylagh's Willie McGrath

Kilskyre Moylagh  1-22   Boardsmill 0-10

Kilskyre Moylagh look like they are starting to get their season back on track with back-to-back wins in the IHC with this comfortable victory over Boardsmill at Athboy.

It was a must win and they looked the hungrier of the two teams right from the start.  With the wind advantage for the first half, they needed to start with purpose and despite the opening score coming from Boardsmill they did get going with three nice scores from play two from Darren O’Higgins.

From the tenth minute on Kilskyre Moylagh opened the gap to a 0.14 to 0.07 half time lead with some well worked points from Daire Shine, James Cook and Willie McGrath.

The second half was more of the same with Shine, O’Higgins and McGrath pegging on the scores. Strong performances from the back three of Jack Connell, Podge Muldoon and Junior O Reilly kept things tight with very limited opportunities for the opposition.
