A win was a must for home side Kilmessan to retain an interest in this years Junior Hurling Championship.

Killyon took an early lead with a quick 1-2 but by the break Kilmessan were in front 1-10 to 1-6, Conor Gorman with four points and an Aiden Mangan goal.

Lorcan Byrne, back from injury, was introduced at half time and the substitute scored four points and along with three from Finn Conroy the home side went on to claim victory with five to spare.
