After an opening round win over Clann na nGael Kilmessan went under to last years winners Kildalkey in this round 2 clash played at Lomans Park Trim. When these two met in the Brendan Davis Cup final at the end of May it was Nicky Horan's men who came out on top.

Kildalkey hit the front with three pointed frees but by the break there was only two points in it, 1-5 to 1-3, Eoin Harkin with the Kilmessan goal. 

Brian O’Halloran’s completed his hat-trick of goals in the second half and this left Kiolmessan with too much to do despite a late goal from substitute Darren Reilly.

Up next for Kilmessan are Dunboyne next weekend.
