The Leinster Colleges Senior B Football Championship final took place today Friday 9th February in Abbotstown GAA Centre of excellence between Malahide Community School, and Ashbourne Community School.

A brilliant win for Ashbourne C.S with a score line of 4-15 to 0-05. Ashbourne captained by Evan O’Kane, who returned from surgery led at half time 3-07 to 0-03 did not give Malahide a chance to settle and worked relentlessly. 

Michael O’Sullivan topped the scoring with 3-01 and was helped by his two comrades on the inside line of Dylan Kettle (0-07) and Niall Daly (0-04) with ball being delivered fast and direct from Michael McIvor, Eric Donohue, and George Hickey. 

The Ashbourne backs led from centre half by Aidan Mackey were never troubled. Their strength as a unit of defence from the goalie and all six backs shone throughout the game, each player fighting tremendously despite the large lead. 

Substitutions of Adam Doran for Patrick Moran, Joe Murray for Dylan Kettle, Ciaran Mc Cullagh for Evan O’Kane, Dylan Rowland for Alex McCann, and Daniel Doherty for Michael O’Sullivan all made strong contributions. 

A great team performance by all and Ashbourne look forward to facing the Munster Champions in the All-Ireland Semi Final.
