Clifford picks out Stephen O'Brien with a defence-splitting low pass but the latter is adjudged to have picked the ball off the ground with a goal chance on.

With a crowd of 73,602 looking on in the sweltering heat of Croke Park, the second half commences with Kerry in a very strong position.

David Clifford has been sensational so far. Sean O'Shea got the goal and saw his penalty saved by Comerford, who also bravely smothered the rebound.

Yellow cards for Geaney and Gannon for their part in the mini fracas. No action taken against O'Shea, who was entitled to go for that ball. We move into six added minutes. John Small is back on.

Tempers frayed here and Comerford is hurt for sure this time. O'Shea left everything on Comerford there. He went in hard with the right boot and his left inadvertently caught the keeper in the forehead.

After a lengthy delay while Evan Comerford received treatment, O'Shea steps forward and has his shot saved by Comerford. O'Shea follows up on the rebound as the ball spills free and the Dublin players are incensed.

Clifford's shot comes back off an upright and Gavin White collects the ball in front of goal. O'Dell is adjudged to have brought him down...

It's been a lively start to the match, as expected. Howard slices his shot left and wide at the end of a patient Dublin build-up. Clifford strokes over his second, right-footed, at the other end, after a pass from the omnipresent O'Shea.

The Dubs saw off Cork at the quarter-final stage after claiming a twelfth successive Leinster crown, while the Kingdom eased through Munster before getting the better of Mayo in the last-eight round.

July 10th was always going to be a red letter day for these two teams and - with the summer well and truly upon us - the stage is set for a titanic tussle at GAA HQ.
