All-Ireland SHC semi-final
Kilkenny 2-26 Clare 0-20, Croke Park FT

19:07

That's all from me for today - thanks for reading and have a great evening!

19:07

Join us tomorrow afternoon for another Match Tracker, when we will learn who completes the All-Ireland final line-up. Will it be the Treaty County or the Tribesmen?

19:05

It's the 17th time the peerless Cody has led Kilkenny to an All-Ireland final. The Black & Amber are seeking to lift the Liam MacCarthy Cup for the first time since 2015

19:03

All-Ireland SHC semi-final full time: Kilkenny 2-26 Clare 0-20

That was much easier than anybody would have predicted. Brian Cody's men ease through to the 2022 All-Ireland SHC final, where they will meet either holders Limerick or Galway in 15 days' time. It'll be their first appearance on the big day since 2019. Job done for them. Disappointing day at HQ for Clare, who never got going and had 24 wides. In contrast, the Cats just kept on taking the right option and delivered a robust, controlled, calm team performance.

18:59

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 2-26 Clare 0-20

O'Donnell opts to take a consolation point in the 70th minute. We will have three minutes of injury time before Kilkenny are confirmed as winners and All-Ireland finalists, 2022.

18:58

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 2-26 Clare 0-19

Super score from play on the spin by the inspirational TJ Reid, who has registered ten times.

18:56

Four minutes of the regulation 70 to play as Hayes booms one wide from distance. A twentieth Clare wide - more wides than points for Brian Lohan's men. Sub Shane Golden with yet another one.

18:54

Save!

Wonderful stop by Murphy to deny Fitzgerald and TJ Reid quickly points down the Davin End. Kelly taps over a free.

18:51

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 2-24 Clare 0-18

Eight minutes from the end, Ryan Taylor gets himself a score and a nice one it was. Wide then from Rodgers - the Banner's 19th.

18:50

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 2-24 Clare 0-17

As we creep past the hour mark, Reid (free) teases over his eighth of the day. The Leinster champions have been mightily impressive.

18:48

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 2-23 Clare 0-17

Sweeper Richie Reid mops up and picks out Kenny slap bang in the middle of the pitch, from where he slots over a superb point.

18:46

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 2-22 Clare 0-17

Reid drops over a free from all of 90 metres. Wide from Shanagher after Cody lost possession ... 17 wides for Clare against just four for Kilkenny thus far.

18:44

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 2-21 Clare 0-17

Mullen - with his fifth - and substitute Rodgers trade points. The No.26 quickly follows up with his second to pare the deficit back to ten. Bearing down on goal, O'Donnell is penalised for steps.

18:41

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 2-20 Clare 0-15

O'Donnell is one of the Clare players to have impressed today - that's his third from play. Fitzgerald joins him on that tally with 18 minutes to go.

18:39

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 2-20 Clare 0-13

It just hasn't happened for Clare today. Another Kelly free tails wide, bookended by a couple of Kilkenny wides. A sense of inevitability to proceedings as another ball is dropped into Murphy's hand. Duggan taps over a Clare free that was erroneously awarded against TJ Reid. Walter Walsh strikes the Cats' 20th point and O'Donnell replies.

18:33

Goal!

The elusive Cian Kenny whips a low shot to the Clare net before Murphy denies O'Donnell at the other end. Kelly converts the '65' via the woodwork but the gap is still 14 points - 2-19 to 0-11.

18:31

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 1-19 Clare 0-10

Billy Ryan goes for goal but his effort is blasted over the bar. David McInerney replies with a nice score.

18:30

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 1-18 Clare 0-9

Another Reid free sails over. Clare add to their wides tally. TJ Reid is booked for throwing his hurl. Kelly takes the free from halfway and this time it goes over.

18:26

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 1-17 Clare 0-8

A good start to the half for Clare as Ryan and Hayes - with a bomb from distance - bang over quickfire points.

18:25

Post!

Kelly is having an off day - he strikes a post at the Hill 16 end from a free. Mark Rodgers and Cian Nolan have replaced David Reidy and Paidi Fitzpatrick for the Banner.

18:24

The teams are back out for the second half. A change for Kilkenny as goalscorer Keoghan is rewarded by being replaced by Walter Walsh.

18:21

39,626 paying spectators in Croke Park for this All-Ireland hurling semi-final, which has been decidedly one-sided thus far. Can Clare get back into it when the action resumes? Stay with us to find out...

18:12

Contrasting fortunes

The Black & Amber were close to flawless during the first half. In contrast, the Banner hit eleven wides, dropped three short, squandered two goalscoring opportunities and only one of their starting forwards has registered from play.

18:10

All-Ireland SHC semi-final half time: Kilkenny 1-17 Clare 0-6

A ruthless first-half display from Brian Cody's charges sees them retire with an unassailable 14-point advantage. Clare haven't got going at all.

18:08

Goal!

The goal arrives on the stroke of half time - but it's Kilkenny who get it, with Martin Keoghan tapping the sliothar to an empty net to leave 14 between the sides!

18:07

Block!

Clare are going for goals already. But Duggan's effort is blocked by Richie Reid...

18:06

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 0-17 Clare 0-6

I make it seven Kilkenny players on target so far. Two minutes left before the interval. Clare make a mess of a goal chance and Mullen punishes them with a sublime score.

18:04

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 0-16 Clare 0-6

A second for Walsh and the gap is back out to ten with three minutes left before the break at sunny Croke Park.

18:02

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 0-15 Clare 0-6

Lawlor breaks down the high ball and Cian Kenny gets his name on the scoresheet! We're in the 30th minute. Billy Ryan adds another point after Eibhear Quilligan dives down to his left to deny Cody a Kilkenny goal. Browne sees yellow and a Kelly free is brought forward and then converted.

18:00

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 0-13 Clare 0-5

Wide from Fitzgerald followed by a facile point from Padraig Walsh. The game is already getting away from the beaten Munster finalists.

17:58

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 0-12 Clare 0-5

Cody bounces off a defender and takes his third score from play. Aron Shanagher replaces Galvin for Clare.

17:56

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 0-11 Clare 0-5

Hayes mops up again but his clearance goes to Reid and then Mullen and then over the bar. Wide from Kelly at the other end. Stark contrast in how the two teams have started here. Kilkenny are at it and Clare are not.

17:55

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 0-10 Clare 0-5

A low-trajectory Reid free splits the posts - his fifth point arriving in the 23rd minute. The response is an Ian Galvin wide.

17:53

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 0-9 Clare 0-5

Diarmuid Ryan takes a classy point after Peter Duggan ran back determinedly to win possession back even though he had dropped his hurl. At the other end, Reid thumps over a free. Ryan replies.

17:49

For the second time, Tony Kelly pulls a Clare free wide. Five wides for the Banner and a couple dropped short inside the opening 17 minutes. They trail by five.

17:47

Defending!

Clare's Rory Hayes clears his lines brilliantly and within seconds Fitzgerald bags his second - and Clare's first in some ten minutes. But Reid retorts immediately. 0-8 to 0-3.

17:44

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 0-7 Clare 0-2

Mullen is wreaking havoc. Midfielder Conor Browne arrows over the Noresiders' fifth successive score.

17:43

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 0-6 Clare 0-2

A trademark Reid free leaves three between the teams. What a catch from Huw Lawlor from the puck-out! Clare have yet to settle - the Cats are settled! Cody snaps up possession and flashes over his second.

17:40

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 0-4 Clare 0-2

Eoin Cody from a tight angle and it's double scores after nine minutes.

17:39

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 0-3 Clare 0-2

Eoin Murphy's puck-out is caught by Reid in the D. He lays it off to Mullen, who whips over his second. The Banner retort with a couple of wides.

17:37

Wow!

What a score from Shane O'Donnell! On four minutes, the Clare attacker throws the sliothar up and dummies a shot, jinks inside and slots at the Davin End from under the Hogan. But Adrian Mullen hits back - 0-2 each!

17:33

All-Ireland SHC semi-final: Kilkenny 0-1 Clare 0-1

TJ Reid lofts over a free from the middle of the pitch and David Fitzgerald replies instantly.

17:32

Game on!

Fergal Horgan gets us started. The stadium is about half full for this vital clash. Clare are defending Hill 16 in the first half. There's a slight breeze and the rain is holding off.

17:25

A roar goes up as the teams begin their parade around the pitch behind the Artane Band.

17:17

Clare are bidding to reach their first All-Ireland final since 2013, while the Black & Amber were last in the decider in 2019.

17:13

The sun is out at Croke Park, the pitch looks resplendent and the atmosphere is building up nicely. Just over 15 minutes to throw-in.

17:11

Team news:

John Conlon misses out for Clare through injury. The inspirational centre back is replaced in the starting XV by Paidi Fitzpatrick. Huge blow to the Banner. Conlon will start on the bench but did not look in any way fit during the warm-up.

16:47

Astonishingly, this is the first championship meeting of these two counties since 2006. How have they avoided each other for 16 long years?

16:43

Team news:

John Conlon is rumoured to be nursing an injury but no late changes to the Clare starting XV have been announced as of yet. The Banner holds its breath...

The stage is set for a titanic tussle at GAA HQ, with the winners advancing to face either Limerick or Galway (who meet tomorrow) in the All-Ireland final in 15 days' time.

13:28

Clare:

The Banner County were edged out by holders Limerick after extra time in a pulsating Munster final, having beaten Tipperary, Cork and Waterford in the group stage and drawing with the Treaty County. In the All-Ireland series, Brian Lohan's charges subsequently got the better of Wexford in Thurles two weeks ago.

13:26

Kilkenny:

Brian Cody's Cats comfortably defeated Westmeath, Laois and Dublin en route to their 74th Leinster title, but lost to Galway and Wexford in the group stage before exacting revenge on the Tribesmen in the provincial decider.

13:22

All-Ireland SHC semi-final:

A huge evening is in store at Croke Park, where Kilkenny and Clare do battle at 5:30pm for a place in this year's Liam MacCarthy Cup decider.
