Hard to see Waterford getting back into this against such a strong and ravenous Limerick side but I'm expecting Liam Cahill's charges to throw everything at the champions in the second half and, remember, eight points is a dangerous lead in hurling...

Limerick had eight different scorers in that first half and dominated the second quarter, during which they scored eleven points and conceded four.

The two teams are out warming up now and the limited crowd continues to flow into Croke Park. hopefully the vast majority of them will make it safely and on time.

Considering how wet it's been this weekend, it's good to see the rain holding off at Croke Park. Right now it looks like conditions are going to be favourable for this game.

Back from suspension for today's game, Conor Gleeson replaces Patrick Curran in the Waterford starting XV.

This will be Waterford's fourth game in 21 days, while Limerick's reward for retaining their Munster crown and coming through the front door is that they've had the last two weekends off.

Apparently the road was blocked by multiple bales of hay after a farmer collided his vehicle into a bridge. The match will start 30 minutes later than planned. Will that affect the preparations of the two teams much? We might never know. For the rest of us, we've waited a week for this game to start so another extra half and hour isn't going to make much difference...

Throw-in delayed until 5:30!

The Waterford players are out on the pitch getting a good feel for the occasion, soaking up the atmosphere. However, the Limerick team bus was delayed en route to Croker - as well as countless supporters - and throw-in has now been pushed back 30 minutes.

There are reports of major delays on the M7 following an accident. Both Waterford and Limerick supporters are understood to be held up en route to Croke Park. If a large number of spectators are delayed, could the 5pm throw-in be pushed back a little bit? Time will tell...
