Connemara Gaels rally behind clubman Brian Connolly.

The GAA community on both sides of the Atlantic has shown its support for Connemara Gaels clubman Brian Connolly who's battling cancer.

Brian underwent successful chemotherapy treatment following his diagnosis with Stage Four Colon cancer in January of last year. But the 42-year-old would begin a more aggressive chemotherapy last November after receiving the dreaded news that the cancer had grown back.

Born in Dorchester MA, Brian grew up in Lettermullan in Co. Galway where he played for and managed the local Naomh Anna CLG club. He then moved to Boston in 2014 and is a valued member of Connemara Gaels.

A GoFundMe page 'Rith nó Siúl do Brian Connolly' has attracted support from across the island of Ireland, America and indeed the world, over $13,000 has been raised in just one day for Brian who is unable to return to work as he continues his fight against cancer. On April 1, Connemara Gaels are hosting a 5k run/walk along the Neponset Trail to remind Brian that his friends, family, teammates and community will support him "every step of the way."
