Galway GAA club raise over €1.4 million in fundraising draw

Aoife Rynne is the owner of a magnificent new apartment in Salthill, Galway after winning the hugely exciting Win A Home Salthill Galway fundraising draw at the weekend. The University of Limerick student (age 25) who is studying a Bachelor of Science in Bioscience was the first ticket out of the drum at the closing ceremony in the Galway Bay Hotel on Sunday night.  

“I just can’t believe it. It’s such a beautiful apartment in such a stunning location. It’s just great,” said Aoife. 

In just over four months, Castlegar GAA Club raised over €1.4 million which has proved to be one of the most successful fundraising draws ever to take place on this Island. 

“I just want to thank everybody who supported us and bought tickets since we launched our campaign last October. The response locally, nationally and overseas has just been incredible,” said John Connolly, Chairman of the Win A Home Salthill Galway committee.

All proceeds from the draw are going towards their newly built state-of-the-art Arás at Castlegar GAA. The Club are also making donations from the draw to Galway Hospice, the Galway Rape Crisis Centre and to two local churches. 

“I’d also like to thank our Club members and all the local businesses who helped us along the way. But a special word of thanks to the team behind this draw in Majella King (Club Secretary), Michelle Higgins (Club Vice-Treasurer), Liam Dilleen (Club Vice-Chairperson), Tony Neary (Castlegar GAA Club) Aidan Brady (Club Rossie & Roscommon GAA), Cormac Donoghue (Jel Marketing) and Paul Byrnes Media,” added John.
