No, winners and runners up have home comings. Anyways even if the fans are getting ahead of themselves Jim Mc Guiness will have the players feat on the ground. ballaghmen (Mayo) - Posts: 318 - 04/09/2012 18:32:29 1259303 Link 0 |
Íts an 'All Ireland FINAL homecoming' which I'd expect there'd be, win or lose. Our campaigns don't normally last into September petejoeduff (Donegal) - Posts: 329 - 04/09/2012 18:33:36 1259304 Link 0 |
I heard a rumour that donegal were all set to book the regency hotel, but the players kicked up a stink and wanted the burlington. These arent good things to be hearing in all fairness. Well, from my perspective they are but for the donegal lads this isnt good news TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 04/09/2012 18:35:21 1259306 Link 0 |

Suprise suprise started by a Mayo man. Believe me there is nothing being taken for granted up here. The media are talking this nonsense up. In fairness it has been 20 years since we were in an all-Ireland final so of course the county is going to go a bit gaa mad. If some people need to try and make an issue of a non-issue then go ahead. Most of the over the top hype about Donegal is coming from outside the county. These are the same people who were first to throw the boot in last year when things didnt go our way and will no doubt be the same people who are secretley hoping that we fall flat on our face. We take it all with a pinch of salt. DLlegends (Donegal) - Posts: 503 - 04/09/2012 18:39:27 1259312 Link 0 |
Non story. Every county has home comings for all ire finalists. Win or loose. Only problem i see hear is between donegal town and letterkenny. Nothing to do with hype. I'm afraid if mayo people think this is something to pin your hopes in your onto a looser, jm will have them right royaldunne (Meath) - Posts: 19449 - 04/09/2012 18:41:26 1259314 Link 0 |

No. Win or lose, an event will be planned to welcome the all ireland finalists home. the only reason this has been mad einto a big story is the media. letterkenny looked for the homecoming, i dont think they're getting it. no discussion of it at county board meeting lastnight. whole thing was blown away up into a story, when it isn't. Jim will have the lads grounded, it wont affect then. having their press night tongiht and its out of the way, settle down and work fore the final up_donegal (Donegal) - Posts: 659 - 04/09/2012 21:14:49 1259434 Link 0 |
Lads, I wouldnt make that up, what would be the point, its only an internet forum for gods sake, not as if its going to make a world of difference is it? Out of interest, have they announced their hotel yet? TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 04/09/2012 21:54:26 1259485 Link 0 |
The Master, care to enlighten us where you heard the rumour or who said it to you? I don't think you will though. You're like Dot Cotton from Eastenders. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9739 - 05/09/2012 10:09:48 1259544 Link 0 |
Ah come on lads. No argument here. It has to be the Burlington .. sur it's closer to Coppers. danpaddyandy (Kildare) - Posts: 260 - 05/09/2012 10:47:43 1259590 Link 0 |
Ridiculous thread. No is the simple answer here. This Donegal side are taking fitness, counter-attacking, belief and solidarity to new heights, and if they win the All-Ireland it will only re-affirm that they are an awesomely powerful side. Jim McGuinness will not let them buy into any so called "hype" either, so it's entirely irrelevant. bob_dolphin (Limerick) - Posts: 694 - 05/09/2012 10:50:18 1259592 Link 0 |
Ya that is right lockjaw, it is totally reasonable and fair to ask me to name someone on an internet forum. TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 05/09/2012 11:16:56 1259630 Link 0 |
