RIP Paddy...A fearless contributor, whether it be sporting or not...Clever and irascible in equal measure, he always fought his "opinion" with great conviction.
A great loss to his family, his county and his many friends...

Doubtless, the late Kevin Armstrong and himself will be lashing over points against Kilkenny on the heavenly pitch as we speak....A good guy.

Was just worrying about some club matches and then I read this thread. Puts everything in perspective, particularly for me being of the same vintage.

Argumentative, stubborn, thick at times, but God did he know his hurling. Never met him but I can honestly say I will miss him.

R.I.P Patrique, God help Ring, Mackey, the Rackards and John Doyle in heaven this evening, they will never have met such a hurling analyst

Must say I'm posting this with tears in my eyes. Never met the guy but even though we differed on some subjects and agreed on others, I always held him in the highest esteem. He told us he was ill but never the extent of the illness, the last post I remember reading from him was one thanking us for a get well thread, I'd like to say more but I'm too upset. Strange I should feel this way about a man I never met, it shows the power of the internet i suppose.

A fabulous contributer to this site during the time I've been reading the forum. Didn't matter if it was Gaelic football, hurling, soccer, boxing, golf, rugby, racing or any other sport, Patrique knew about it and had an opinion on it. He had a unique way of articulating his views too. And no matter if you agreed or disagreed with what he had to say, it was always a pleasure to read his posts. A sporting enthusiast and a devoted Antrim GAA fanatic. R.I.P. Patrique.
