Had to pay cost price and stamp duty!

I'm also wondering what you think the problem with it might be?

No different in essence from if my club arranged a challenge match with your club, somehow drummed up interest in it, and we decided to charge a tenner a head for people to see it and split the proceeds afterwards.

Croke Park is among 23 bids from ten different countries to host an Investec Champions Cup final in the near future.

Since the NFL upgraded croke park it is getting a lot of events. The NFL doesn't get a lot of credit of it's investment as the GAA is cashing in it. Compared to AFL the relationship has benefited the GAA hugely financially.

I am not sure when the champions cup final is but Leinster teams building staduims frees up croke park to host more events

I'm shocked you're for this, you normally have nothing good to say about the GAA.

The Indo podcast were talking about club management in Monaghan and highlighting how managers are asking for 250 euro a training session adding up to 1k a week? Seems a lot but I heard a Galway hurling team had been paying 50k to management and didn't believe it until I heard this on the indo podcast. Is this common enough for the top teams around the country? Or just a handful of teams who have money ?

More fool the clubs who pay that sort of cash out. It's scandalous what's going on. Every club has the managers on the circuit going around to different clubs like a merry go round without little or any success.

It's amazing clubs can raise so much money. I'd sooner pay a top class forward to join the club over a manager. I know the Galway club is already out of the championship so that money wasnt worth it. At least they were a senior team. paying 1k a week for intermediate is crazy

Mickey Harte is the new Kilcoo manager. Was he at Offaly last ? Shane Lowry was helping out Offaly I believe so it shows how strong the club game is. I wonder could to make a breakaway division of top club teams ? It's the best chance of going pro in the GAA?

Seafóid. Clubs have tiny support bases in comparison to counties. How on earth would that be a better of chance of a sustainable professional game?

Streaming and TV money, change the gaa expenses and once you are pro you can do deals with the government like the Irfu have done. At least if it is left to clubs they can drive it somewhere

League of Ireland soccer can't make any money off streaming. Why would someone from Donegal pay to stream matches for clubs which have nothing to do with him? Especially given that the teams will be from villages and towns and be of lower quality than intercounty.
The GAA is popular because people have an attachment to place, and the teams club and county, represent where they're from. Take that away and you have very little left.

You realise that the streaming and TV rights for county club championships lie with the County Boards that organise them, and not with the clubs themselves?

Galway made over a quarter of a million streaming games

Yes, streaming county championship games where there's a local interest. Local interest disappears in the scenario you're proposing.

Wouldn't go very far in paying 25 full time Professional players and 5+ management plus casual match day staff etc.

The clubs themselves still don't own streaming and broadcasting rights. Those rights sit the body that organises the matches, i.e. County Boards for county championships, the Provincial Councils for the provincial club championships, and GAA centrally when the club championships move to the All-Ireland stage.

If you mean what I think you mean, the clubs involved would either have to push through a massive change in the current situation, or else break away altogether from the GAA and form their own Association, with all that would involve re. property ownership, trustees, player injury fund, and all manner of governance matters. Personally, I don't see either of those things as being very likely.

It would start off small but you would have a contract. 20 top teams would still double the money you get from the government with is paid out to hurling and football county players. The money is there just need to change the structure
