Replying To beano:  "And seemingly no accountablility for the non-show the last day. You just know that when we do pull a rabbit out from the sleeve and make the customary pre-game changes as if we are still in the 90s and teams don't know each other inside out, it'll be for Reck, with the dogs on the street knowing he is carrying an injury, and not any of the lads who have continually failed to take their chances.

And the cycle will repeat."
Can we draft in somebody late into tomorrows panel when the 26 has already been named and Shane Reck is in it ? We need to make changes to that named 15 lads need to know what happened in Kilkenny wasn't acceptable. Looking forward to tomorrow all I want to see us doing is go out and hurl with passion and intensity . The crowd will row in behind us then. Have no idea how ticket sales are going but I'd be hoping we can get 10000 in for what is our biggest double header in years .

The team will not start as named. You can be certain of that.

Replying To ElGranSenor:  "Same team named as the last day, only changes I can see are Darren Codd and Cian Byrne coming in on the bench

Would expect changes, Shane Reck the obvious name to look at given he's been an injury doubt all week"
Terrible team named given the performance last week, all the lads who were invisible or got roasted are starting again, and one of the 2 rumoured changes makes it worse again.
I really really hope that Keith's faith in the lads concerned is well founded, and that they will turn things around, or we could take a bad beating and our season could be over effectively after only 3 games.
Best of luck to all the lads, hope they prove me wrong.

At this stage it would probably cause more of a suprise to the opposition if we picked a changed team and actually went with that changed team.

There are 4 players named in the reserves that can be drafted into the first 26
Rory Higgins
Stephen Martin
Darren Codd
Cian Molloy

But i got to agree - just name the team and get on with it - drives me wrong these stupid lip service dummy teams. For me it shows weakness .. We aren't confident in our team so we won't name it .. Brian Cody never did that silliness

I would say at least 5 or 6k travelled to Kilkenny so it would be dissapointing if we can't get over 6k at home for a big championship double header

There could be a few thousand children on the pitch by the sounds of it. I've said it before and I will say it again, we need to get people going to these games and charging children is not helping. An empty seat earns $0.
I just hope Wexford people who can go to the game get out and support the 2 teams. Support is needed tomorrow or its season over.
Its a perfect opportunity to see both teams in action, get out and support them both.
I do not like the dummy team either, its not nice for players who are dropped.
But not for tonight. Up Wexford.

Replying To MyOhMi:  "A Wexford win for me - Wexford Park is a difficult place for any team to come to and especially for a Dublin team that may not travel well. Will we see wholesale changes? … Possibly a few .. I don't think we have that in-depth of a squad - we also have quite a lot of players that are similar ability.

The harsh reality of this is that if Wexford loose, they are as good as out of the championship on May 9th except for a few miracles."
It hasn't been a particularly difficult place for Dublin to come to over the last 3/4 years

Dublin may win but it won't be a huge margin. Maybe 4/5 points at most.

If that team starts then 8 or 9 point loss.

I'd imagine there will be changes. At least I hope so. I know we lack strength in depth but what other team would start the same 15 after a beating we got against kilkenny. If this team starts then we have zero competition for places on the team..

Replying To MyOhMi:  "On a separate note - Good Counsel College lost to St Kierans College yesterday in the 2nd year Leinster Final. Apparently only 2 Wexford players started on the first 15 for GCC. For me that sounds serious alarm bells - either the GCC management team are very biased towards KK hurlers or else the standard of 15 year olds hurling in GCC from Wexford is very poor:

According to GCC Twitter 13 clubs represented -

8 Wexford: St James, Gusserane, Horeswood, R/Cushinstown, Rathnure, Adamstown, Bannow Ballymitty, Cloughbawn,

5 Kilkenny: Graiguenamanagh, Tullogher, The Rower, Mullinavat, Kilmacow,

Do our Games Development People, Director of Hurling etc etc look at these figures and maybe start asking some questions.

I've been harping on for years (as have many others on this forum) that if our schools are doing well then our county teams are doing well."
From what I can gather, the Wexford U15s do not have a big Good Counsel contingent, only 3 or 4 of the 48 in the U14 panel last year were Good Counsel players

Out of those 8 Wexford clubs listed above, none of them were Division 1 at U14 last year and Rathnure were the only club in Division 2

Tbf, Wexford GAA have made an effort to advertise the game on social media, would've thought we could've got somewhere between 8k and 10k because of the novelty of the double-header as well as inviting all the U10 club sides but others seem skeptical

We're almost certainly going to see changes to the side named, it is what it is, don't know how many, at least one and at max five, would guess it'll be three at most

I probably would've made more changes but I'm not seeing what's going on in training and also, while I don't quite agree with it, there is some logic to starting most of the same team as the last day and giving themselves the chance to redeem themselves after that terrible performance, they'll surely want to put things right (And if they don't and are feeling sorry for themselves, they shouldn't be in the panel)

Irrespective of who starts, there are some key things that we need to do

Play with intensity from the get-go and never let up: I don't know how good we are at our best but what's certainly true is that we let ourselves down the last day and should be capable of much better than that. Get stuck in early and often, this isn't that far-removed from a "Win or bust" game, good things come you way when you play with intensity

Press from the front and track runners: Dublin killed is last year when we stood off them and KK did it last time out as well, I can see the logic behind conceding the puck-out but when Limerick do it, they immediately push up, we've been too soft. Push up on their puck-outs and stop them launching ball from a short puck-out straight on top of Hetherton

Play Chin at centre-forward: He should be out in the half-forward-line anyway but it's important that he plays at #11 IMO as Dublin may have Eoin O'Donnell on him and you should never have a man-marker playing #6. Give Chin the freedom to roam and punish Dublin if they put EOD on him, attack the spade down the middle left open by Chin

Speed, speed, speed: The Dublin defence had struggled with speed the last few years, they conceded 5 against KK last year, 4 against us in the Championship, 7 against Cork, 3 against us in the league, and 4 against Offaly. Weather looks dry tomorrow from what I can see and Wexford Park has one of the best surfaces in the country, conditions are ideal for a speed game. We are not a big time but if Cillian Byrne and Seán Rowley start, we will have plenty of speed there (Plus the likes of Conor Hearne and Damien Reck who love to run), every time we get the ball in the forwards we should be taking them on and going for goal

Is it that Keith is thinking that the team won't play as terrible as they did last time out? Therefore he puts faith in going with the same team.
Or is it that he hasn't got the faith in the bench and is afraid to start any of them?
Unbelievable if true that there are no changes.
Surely a team that went to Nowlan Park and lacked all the basics of hurling? Showing no intensity, no fight,no heart and no Wexford spirit shouldn't line out as last Saturday week.
No need to make wholesale alterations. Just perhaps one in every line. The players must be told that ineptitude is not acceptable and they must fight for inclusion.
I believe its a dummy team and there will be surprises come tomorrow.
Still think we'll win.

Hopefully the camogie girls pulling it out of the fire against Dublin is a sign of things to come!
